Operators Guide
Please use our step by step guide to help you safely operate our Equipment and have you digging as soon as possible!
Attaching the Trailer
1. Attach the tow coupling & Tow Ball
Ensure the towing capacity of your vehicle is at least 3000kg, and you have a brake controller fitted to your vehicle. Align the tow bar with the tow coupling. Lower the trailer using the jockey wheel, until it falls into place. Lock the tow coupling onto the tow ball and re-insert the safety pin.
2. Connect the wiring harness
Identify the wiring harness on the trailer, and connect it to the vehicle. Attach an adapter if necessary. Test all trailer lights to ensure they are operational.
3. Attach the chains
Attach the chains to the vehicle using the D-Shackles. Ensure the chains are crossed under the tow hitch for added security.
4. Final Checks
Before moving your vehicle, ensure everything is securely attached, all connections are tight and the wiring is secure. Check your vehicle's owner's manual for any specific towing recommendations.
Unloading the Excavator
Follow this step-by-step guide for a safe and smooth unload at your work site.
1. Preparation
Ensure the area where you will unload is clear of obstacles and has a stable surface. Position the plant trailer on level ground and ensure the trailer is attached to your vehicle.
2. Check Equipment
Inspect the mini excavator for any visible issues and ensure it’s in good working condition.
3. Remove Fastenings
Carefully release the straps or chains securing the excavator. Use caution to avoid allowing the excavator to shift unexpectedly.
4. Position Trailer Ramps
Lower the trailer ramps incrementally until they’re fully extended.
5. Start the Excavator
Adjust the throttle to high, turn the key to the first increment and wait 10 seconds. Then fully turn the key until the engine starts. Wait 1 minute before adjusting the throttle back to low.
6. Position the Excavator
Raise the blade to ensure it does not scrape against the trailer or ramps. Turn the excavator using the left joystick to face the rear of the trailer.
7. Drive down the Ramp
Slowly and carefully drive the excavator down the ramp. Keep a steady pace and ensure the tracks maintain even contact with the ramp. Use a low gear to maintain control and avoid sudden movements.
8. Complate Unloading
Once the excavator is off the ramp and on stable ground, check the surroundings for any potential hazards.
9. Secure the Trailer
After unloading is complete, inspect the trailer for any damages and secure any remaining equipment before leaving the area. Ensure the trailer is stored in a safe location, with the tow coupling lock attached.
